About the author
Rémi Capobianco, born in 1984, lives and works in France, where he is fully engaged in the art of drawing. His passion for drawing experienced a revival after a long break of ten years, a period during which he felt the deep need to re-explore this form of artistic expression. This desire to resume drawing was born from his desire to learn new techniques and to break out of the limits imposed by his initial influences, those of his favorite comic book authors.
In 2019, his meeting with an exceptional teacher in Aix-en-Provence was decisive. This connection marked the start of a new chapter in his artistic journey, providing Rémi not only with valuable technical skills but also a new perspective on his work. The first confinement, which followed this meeting, allowed him to immerse himself more in his passion, drawing regularly outside of class. This extra time strengthened his commitment to art, transforming drawing into an essential activity in his daily life.
Rémi uses various mediums in his creations, including pencil, chalk, graphite and ink on paper. His style is decidedly figurative, focusing on portraits of animals and famous people. Major influences on his work include Régis Loisel, Jean-Pierre Gibrat, Steve Wiebe, André Franquin and Hergé, artists who have shaped his approach and technique. His works are distinguished by meticulous attention to detail, aiming to give depth and volume to his creations. This precision is a reflection of his admiration for the subjects he depicts, whether fascinating animals or inspiring public figures.
Today, drawing occupies a central place in Rémi's life. This artistic practice brings him deep personal satisfaction, allowing him to express himself in a meaningful way and share his creative universe. His desire to make himself known and show his work grew stronger, guided by the desire to make his works visible and accessible to the public.
In the future, Rémi aspires to explore new artistic horizons. He plans to take up watercolor, acrylic painting and ballpoint pen drawing, techniques that will further broaden his skills and enrich his artistic repertoire. In the meantime, he continues to draw in his spare time, with each work a testament to his dedication and love for the art of drawing.
