Ekaterina Novikova

I am a graphic artist, originally from Murmansk. At the age of 15, I decided on the one that is closest to me in spirit and an important direction in the visual arts - this is surrealism.
Surrealism is not real objects, in an unusual environment, it is not a lack of consistency and complete chaos. This is the same reality, only not outside, but the one inside. What is seen by some inner eye; with the eye of feeling. The images breathe inside you, it remains to listen to them, take a closer look and guess with the help of which symbols to transfer them into a single external world for all. These are not fantasies, these are associations. And the artist is their bearer, translator and reproducer. Outside of the mind, inside everyone is hidden the most sensual, secret, vulnerable and real - what could be more important than this, both in art and in every person? What could be more quivering and more courageous than seeing and unraveling it? Surrealism for me is a way of thinking, and the means of fine art are an amazing opportunity to translate this thinking into a language accessible to all: creativity and paintings.
