Cécile Mordillo, geboren 1972, lebt und arbeitet in Frankreich. Nach ihrem Abschluss als Grafikdesignerin an der Met-Schule in Penninghen in Paris im Jahr 1995 arbeitete sie hauptsächlich im Bereich Kinderbuchverlag. Ihre künstlerische Reise hat jedoch in den letzten Jahren eine neue Richtung eingeschlagen, da sie sich in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Amsterdamer Verleger und Agenten Rubinstein dem Werk ihres Vaters Guillermo Mordillo widmet.
Heute findet Cécile ihre besondere Erfüllung in der Porträtkunst. Inspiriert von Meistern wie Norman Rockwell, Gustav Klimt, Giovanni Boldini und Johannes Vermeer erforscht sie die subtilen Nuancen des menschlichen Ausdrucks durch ihre Bleistiftzeichnungen auf Papier. Für ihre Kreationen arbeitet sie am liebsten mit hochwertigen Buntstiften, die aufgrund ihrer Lichtbeständigkeit ausgewählt wurden, auf Papier im A5-Format, blauem „Denim“.
Für Cécile ist das Zeichnen eines Porträts eine intime und aufschlussreiche Übung. Jede Linie, jeder Schatten und jedes Licht tragen dazu bei, die Persönlichkeit und Emotion des Motivs zum Vorschein zu bringen. Es ist ein intensiver und fesselnder Prozess, bei dem sie bestrebt ist, nicht nur die physischen Merkmale, sondern auch das Wesen der dargestellten Person einzufangen.
