David Gander is a contemporary British artist based in France. His artistic journey began with an art Foundation course at Hornsey Art College in London during the late seventies. Subsequently, he pursued a Graphic Design BA (Hons) course, specializing in illustration.
Since 1982, David has built a successful career as a freelance illustrator, contributing to diverse fields such as advertising, children's books, and educational publications. His artistic repertoire includes extensive work in silkscreen printing, etching, and linocut printing, with some of his paintings reflecting a similar style characterized by intricate line work and vibrant coloring.
A distinctive aspect of David's art involves blending subjects or objects from the contemporary world with settings and figures reminiscent of medieval times. He executes this fusion with a bold and limited palette of colors, creating a unique visual language that captures the essence of both eras.
