Diversity explorations I (2024) Schilderij door Concheso

This work was born as a result of my connection with the beach and summer. Having in mind a paradisiacal place where the wind carries the smell of the sea wherever you are. Hence the reason why that blue color palette was used, the essence of the sea carried by the wind, where the yellow of the hibiscus flower and the skin tone contrast.

This is the first work of Diversity explorations where I work in mixed technique (water-based ink, markers and oil) on Canson 250gr recycled paper from some work I did for a screen printing class. That is why on the back, you can see stains of the colors.

As I continued making the works of this series, it became clear to me that these girls had something in common:
They were diverse women, accompanied by some element that reinforced their character and personality. The series had given me to understand that each of them, as different as they were, showed as a whole, the beauty and value of ethnic diversity on this planet.

Esta obra nació como resultado de mi conexión con la playa y el verano. Teniendo en mente un lugar paradisiaco dónde el viento lleva el olor del mar hacia dónde sea que estés. De ahí la razón por la que se utilizó esa paleta de colores azules, la esencia del mar llevado por el viento, dónde constrasta el amarillo de la flor de hibisco y el tono de la piel.

Se trata de la primera obra de Diversity explorations dónde trabajo en técnica mixta (tinta al agua, rotuladores y óleo) sobre papel reciclado Canson 250gr de unos trabajos que hice para clase de serigrafía. Por eso en la cara posterior, se pueden ver manchas de los colores.

A medida que continué haciendo las obras de esta serie me quedó claro que estas chicas tenían algo en común:
Eran mujeres diversas, acompañadas de algún elemento que reforzaba su carácter y personalidad. La serie me había dado a entender que cada una de ellas, tan diferentes como eran, mostraban en su conjunto, lo bello y lo valioso de la diversidad étnica en este planeta.
