Each piece has its own story that I often keep secret, leaving everyone the opportunity to invent their own.

Brig is a contemporary French scultor. The journey began in 2003 when Brig stepped into the ceramic workshop of the Constant Permeke School of Applied Arts in Grande-Synthe, located in Hauts de France. Here, a moment of serendipity ignited Brig's passion for working with clay, setting the foundation for a remarkable artistic voyage. From that transformative encounter, Brig has been shaping clay, molding it into vessels of emotions and memories cherished over precious instances. This journey has been marked by encounters, experiences, and the vivid expression of life's sensitivities. A particularly prominent theme has been the portrayal of women, capturing their feelings and moods with the intention of reflecting their emancipation and essence.

In more recent times, Brig's artistic realm has expanded to include a collection of whimsical characters, each endearing and brought to life through charming, colorful compositions. Departing from conventional forms, the artist embraces humor, freedom, and creativity, breathing fresh air into her creations.

Within the tranquil haven of her workshop, Brig communes with her materials and the elements, finding solace in their presence. Her artistic process involves a constant exploration—searching, doubting, finding, touching, breathing, laughing, imagining, singing, listening—a symphony of experiences that result in the birth of characters with distinctive physiques. These characters hold stories that often remain shrouded in secrecy, inviting viewers to weave their own narratives.

Chamotte clay serves as her chosen medium, its tactile quality under her fingers a source of inspiration. Brig's pieces are delicately colored using engobe, a raw material that grants her the flexibility to craft colors and nuances, enhancing her creative expression. As she navigates this artistic odyssey, Brig's hands remain entrenched in the earth, drawing forth beauty, stories, and emotions that reverberate with every touch.
