Betto Lucio

born in S. Giorgio delle Pertiche (Padova) on 07/02/1955 where he lives and works.
Self-taught and intuitive, optimistic and omnivorous "Veneto painter of the plain", he tackles the most varied strands of the figurative with the same determination, stripping them and covering them with different colors and shapes each time. Without reverential fears, in this proceeding of his, he accumulates with happy results a wealth of contents and a truly remarkable skill. Supported by a classical training and a long apprenticeship, he moves from a recognizable figurative which becomes a pretext for coloristic digressions and inexhaustible technical experiments, in the search for a gradual separation from reality and matter. Constant is the search for new balances between form and colors that become unstable and "nervous" precisely in the transition from one phase to another. The sketch effect of some works (painting alla prima) reveals the achieved skill and freshness. In the more reasoned and complex works we notice the perennial search for harmony and balance, all wrapped up in a pinch of ironic and amazed wonder that the image of man gives us.
