IN THE HEART OF NAIROBI’S GIKOMBA MARKET (KENYA), CAMOUFLAGED IN ONE OF THE MANY PILES OF TIN TRUNKS, LIES AN UNDERGROUND BUNKER. IT’S A MYSTICAL WORKSHOP RUN BY A GROUP OF EX-AERONAUTIC ENGINEERS WHO SALVAGE PARTS FROM ABANDONED AIRPLANES, MODIFYING THEM INTO HAND-MADE FUNCTIONAL ART AND FURNITURE PIECES.
THIS IS THE STORY OF THE CRAFTSMEN, THEIR ART AND THE LEGACY OF GIKOSH THAT LIVES ON UNTIL THIS DAY.
