Abiezer Agudelo Ballesteros Colombian Artist (1964) has a sustained career in representing the department in regional events. Indeed, at the 29th National Visual Arts Exhibition, (1985) in the south central zone, he won the fifth prize, with the works Nude and Floating, painting and drawing, worked in his characteristic style. He also won first prize at the 37th Salón Regional de Artistas (1997) with the happening-installation Primer Gran Sorteo Salón Nacional de Artistas, which according to Alberto Berón ”states a criticism not lacking in irony about the reception of art in Colombian society: about the artist who hopes to win a salon, with the hope that the circuits on which the power of the art market rests will recognize those who, in marginalization, have spent years dedicated in a disciplined manner to this activity today somewhat to be defined and who is grouped under the name of art.” (37 National Salon of Artists. Miniculture, 1998).

In the 39th National Salon of Artists (2003) he was selected with Bomba y Resurrección car, an installation about which he himself says: "one of the functions of art is to represent its historical social environment of the time with meaning and depth." Conceptualization that supports the validity of his proposal because he has understood that the artist has to be contemporary.

His proposal is in accordance with the evolution of the times when the question according to Thierry de Luve, quoted by Eduardo Serrano Revista Semana, No. 847) is: Not what is beautiful but what happens with art.” Abiezer answers this question with his three-dimensional works and his happenings.

Agudelo is recognized in the Coffee Region for his painting and drawing of figures that were ahead of time to the appearance of phenomena such as androgyny, figures that eliminate gender boundaries in a universalist and inclusive vision of the human being. Evidence of how his painting transcends the local sphere, becoming a forerunner of fashions that, despite being temporary, show the visionary power of artists.

His two-dimensional work, in pastel, oil and pencil, resorts to a loose and firm line in which the characteristics of expressionism are evoked, which appeal more to the effect on the viewer than to the preciousness of the technique. Perhaps that explains the preference that so many collectors show for Abiezer when it comes to acquiring works of art. Agudelo constantly experiments with the support of the works, all materials are good as long as they contribute to the creation, integrating as a whole.
