Michel Trapezaroff is a contemporary French painter. He belongs to the authentic realistic tradition started by the Dutch artists of the 17th century as a landscape painter, highly influenced by the classical masters. He describes familiar settings that are suffused in harmony and calm with an overpowering intensity of observation and sensation.
In his ongoing attempt to capture nature as it truly is, he uses a skilled palette, precise brush strokes, and a startling lightness in his shading to conjure up the unique ambiance of the setting, the season, and the time of day without letting any small detail throw off the composition's harmony.
