My name is Lynne Flores and I’m originally from Scotland, UK. I now live near Denver, Colorado, USA. I had a very keen interest in producing art when I was at high school, and I studied art up to and including Sixth Year Studies level. I intended to apply for art college on graduating high school, but at the last minute I changed my mind, and instead I went to university and obtained a degree in History and English.
During my 20s and 30s I hardly produced any art at all, which I now regret. However, at the beginning of 2023, when I was 45, I decided that I was very much missing art and I threw myself back into it! I am LOVING making art again! It’s a wonderful, fulfilling, creative outlet for me and I’m so glad I rediscovered my passion!
I'm most inspired to draw and paint flowers. I adore them and I find that they provide endless challenges and possibilities. Living in Colorado is fantastic, because in the summer we have the most incredible wildflowers, which I photograph when I'm out running (I'm a keen long-distance runner). I also love to photograph garden flowers - any flowers really! I use my photographs as the basis for my drawings and paintings.
I do also try to branch out a little into landscapes, and the magnificent Rocky Mountain scenery here in Colorado is a huge inspiration to me.
I enjoy producing both traditional art (mostly in colored pencil and acrylic paint) and digital art. With digital art I started out by adapting some of my photographs in Canva, but I later progressed to doing digital drawing and painting in Ibis Paint X.
