Before the thunderstorm (2024) Peinture par Irina Gauss

It was 1995. I stood in front of the white canvas and felt empty inside me. A flawless still life was in the centre of the classroom, other students were beginning to paint, the teacher was walking impatiently between us. I remember this moment as very well. An empty canvas, an empty head and the teacher's words: "A true artist must immediately see on the empty canvas before his inner gaze the finished picture." No inspiration… No vision… 

Then followed a long search for myself. Studying at the Faculty of Philology, moving, studying again, family, work, life...and suddenly (it was 2020) I feel it again. This inspiration, this feeling of beauty around me, which I definitely want to share with others.

I have attended all sorts of painting courses and continue my self-development to this day. I believe that the beauty of nature can be most expressively conveyed through impressionism. While I like to express feelings and emotions through Cubism, in which I can share different thoughts, strong feelings and ideas with the audience at the same time.

At the moment my artworks are in private collections in different parts of the world. And I am very grateful to everyone who supports my art and buys my paintings.
