Viktor Bezumov was born in 1950 in Naryan-Mar. After graduating from school there in 1969, he entered the Yaroslavl Art College, and in 1973 he graduated from it. Having moved to the city of Syktyvkar, he began his exhibition activity, combining it with trips to the creative dachas of sculptors (Pereslavl-Zalessky), where the creative style was formed. In 1984 entered the agricultural sector of Russia. In 1986 made a trip to Finland, where he got acquainted with the contemporary art of the Nordic countries. The monumental sculpture of Sweden, and the work of Henry Moore aroused great interest.
In 1994 he became the Laureate of the State. Prize of the Republic of Komi for the creation of a monument to the poet Viktor Savin. In 2005 received the title of Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Komi, for exhibition activities and contribution to the culture of the republic. Continues to participate in all major exhibitions.
