Stefano Milazzo, independent photographer and architect by training, was born with a devouring passion for the art of capturing moments of life through his lens. Graduating with an architecture degree in 2005, he quickly merged his love for spatial design with his fascination with photography, making it one of his greatest passions.
Since his university years, Stefano has immersed himself in the world of photography, seeing in this art a means of telling the many facets of the world, as perceived by the human eye. For him, each shot is a constant search for moments, situations, forms capable of awakening emotions in the viewer.
His training as an architect gives him a sometimes abstract vision, perceptible in his compositions where the search for perspective and composition occupies a central place. Fascinated by the world of theater, Stefano is inspired by the play between light and shadow, between reality and illusion.
His photographic language focuses mainly on the reportage style, a true storytelling tool in tune with theatrical language. His work is deeply rooted in his interest in social, environmental issues and human existence.
Stefano Milazzo has refined his art by participating in numerous workshops led by internationally renowned photographers, such as Erica Larsen, Bruno Zanzottera, Giancarlo Ceraudo and Emiliano Mancuso. His specialization as a photojournalist was recognized by obtaining the title of photoreporter of the Calabria region, following his participation in a professional training course in environmental and naturalist photojournalism.
His work has been widely published in contemporary art magazines and has even been selected by National Geographic USA. His reports have been exhibited at various international photography festivals, and his individual exhibitions have been enthusiastically received by the public.
In 2023, Stefano Milazzo was honored with the third prize of PHOCO by Galielo Editore, and in April 2024 his work will be presented in a group exhibition at the Pinacoteca di Marano Principato. His artistic journey is marked by a constant commitment to exploring the multiple dimensions of humanity and nature, sensitively captured through his lens.
