Artiste précurseur d’avant-garde, reconnu comme l’un des pionniers du mouvement "Street’Art" français (Art contemporain urbain), Speedy Graphito s’impose aujourd’hui internationalement comme l’un des artistes majeurs de sa génération.
Depuis le début des années 80, juste après la figuration libre, Speedy Graphito imprègne du "Style Graphito" la mémoire collective et les murs de Paris en les colorant de ses graphismes percutants.
Aussi prolifique qu’inventif, SG utilise toutes les formes d’expression (peinture, sculpture, installation, photo ou vidéo), pour créer à travers son œuvre et au fil des époques un langage universel imprégné de l’air du temps., sa marque de fabrique est celle d'un art joyeux et profond, aux couleurs souvent vives, dans lequel il bouscule de façon ludique et ironique nos systèmes de perception.
Dans cette démarche, il n'hésite pas à s’approprier pour la détourner toute l’imagerie de la culture populaire, des super héros, voire des marques, réalisant ainsi un décryptage quasi-systématique de notre mémoire collective. Il décline alors en autant d'interrogations les normes et les diktats de notre identité culturelle occidentale, superposant à la réalité de notre société une dimension plus poétique.

Speedy Graphito, whose real name is Olivier Rizzo, is a prominent French painter renowned for his pioneering role in the French Street Art movement. Born in the vibrant city of Paris in 1961, he embarked on a creative journey that would reshape the world of urban art.
Speedy Graphito's artistic odyssey began in the early 1980s, following a brief career as a graphic designer and art director. In 1983, he made a significant move by joining the influential art collective known as X-Moulinex. However, it wasn't long before he set out on his own path, departing from X-Moulinex in 1984 to explore the burgeoning world of street art independently.
A pivotal moment in Speedy Graphito's career occurred in 1985 when he attended the inaugural gathering of the graffiti and urban art movement in Bondy, France. This event brought together a constellation of talented artists, including Jef Aerosol, Miss Tic, SP 38, Epsylon Point, Blek le Rat, Futura 2000, Nuklé-Art, Kim Prisu, and Banlieue-Banlieue. It was during this time that Speedy Graphito's unique style began to take shape, marked by his innovative use of stencils and brushes to create striking paintings, prints, and street art murals.
As the years passed, Speedy Graphito's reputation as a trailblazer in the realm of street art continued to grow. By 1989, he had already participated in several art exhibitions, primarily within the bustling art scene of Paris. As the 1990s unfolded, his works transcended national borders, making appearances in art galleries across Europe. His innovative approach to street art, which incorporated schematic and dynamic characters reminiscent of iconic artists like Javier Mariscal and Keith Haring, set him apart from the crowd.
Speedy Graphito's creative well drew inspiration from a wide array of sources, including 1950s United States, cartoons, Manga, and the imagery of the Maya culture. Furthermore, he was influenced by the iconic characters of Disney and the captivating world of video games, allowing these diverse elements to fuse and manifest in his artwork.
One of Speedy Graphito's most celebrated works is "Temptation 2011." This thought-provoking piece features Disney's Snow White gazing longingly at the half-eaten logo of Apple Macintosh, symbolizing the alluring power of technology and consumerism in contemporary society.
