Born in Rochdale (UK) in 1969, Scott developed a passion for art from a young age. During his adolescence, while working as a roadie for punk bands, Scott spent his free time sketching punks and designing album covers. It was this body of work that earned him a place at Cheltenham University, where he gained his degree in fine arts.
In 2002, his much-loved studio was destroyed in a fire and he lost All. Unable to continue both practically and emotionally, Scott turned to teaching, believing that his artistic career was now just part of his past.
In 2011, Scott moved with his family to Verona (Italy) and, ironically, settled in an apartment directly above an art gallery. Feeling inspired to pick up his paintbrushes again, he began sketching the astonishing architecture. With his passion revived, he returned to England and built a studio in his garden. He hasn't stopped painting since.
While living in Taiwan, Scott studied calligraphy and discovered the elegance of this beautiful and esteemed art. Chinese calligraphy focuses on two types of beauty: obvious aesthetics and hidden beauty, the soul and life of a figure. Often, Chinese painters will say to 'write a painting', and this concept has heavily influenced Scott's work over the years, wanting his works to tell their own story, for the viewer to read the story of. 039;energy. And the calligraphy studio that took Scott's art in the direction of "scribble art".
