Socrates in the household /
One says for a good housewife and Socrates will come in handy in the household😊. So, I got one.
For Lithuania, Halloween is something new, introduced from the outside relatively recently and therefore does not having such deep traditions as the Day of All Dead or All Saints' Day. An amazing couple of days a year at the turn of the last days of autumn and the beginning of winter, when in the morning the first frost appears on the grass and everything freezes in some kind of silent anticipation. These days, cemeteries come to life, covered with bushes of blooming chrysanthemums and candles burning in the night. It seems that the whole country is immersed in the sound of infinity, in contact with the souls of the departed loved and dear people.
Although I was born and grown up in Lithuania, I was raised by my mother, whose most part of the family was repressed in the 1937s (which was carefully hidden) and the graves of my relatives were never found or were scattered across the vast expanses of the Russian land. Perhaps, only now, having approached the turn of the second half of my life, I am beginning to slowly penetrate into the depth and symbolism of this Holiday.
I wish you all good, bright holidays!
RU-
