"Flamingo kiss"
A gouache drawing of two flamingos leaning towards each other, so that the silhouette of their curved necks forms a heart shape. Pink silhouettes of graceful birds on a bright azure sky background.
As a child, I was often taken to the Kaunas Zoo, and there I first saw live flamingos, amazing birds with thin long legs, huge beaks too heavy for the head and curving necks. So, unexpectedly, nature ordered, endowing them with strange, not harmonious proportions and striking beauty at the same time.
Our family doesn't really celebrate St. Valentine, believing that love for a loved one cannot be limited to one day a year and that this is more a holiday for teenagers and commerce… but who of us was not 16 when all those hearts and little signs of love were so important?

Рисунок гуашью двух фламинго склонившихся к друг другу, так что силуэт их изогнутых шей формирует форму сердца. Розовый силуэты грациозных птиц на ярко лазурном фоне неба.
В детстве меня часто водили в Каунасский зоопарк и там я впервые увидела живых фламинго, удивительных птиц с тонкими длинными ногами, огромными слишком тяжеловесными для головы клювами и изгибистыми шеями. Так неожиданно природа распорядилась, наделив их странными не гармоничными пропорциями и поражающей красотой одновременно.
В нашей семье не принято отмечать День св. Валентина, считая, что любовь к любимому человеку невозможно ограничить одним днем в году и что это больше праздник для подростков и коммерции… но кому из нас не было 16-ти, когда все эти сердечки и небольшие знаки внимания были так важны?

Gouache

The substances are diluted with water and rendered pasty and opaque by the addition of gum and honey. The colors become opaque and can, therefore, be superimposed, which makes one paint with gouache as with oil. The gouache is recommended by its bright, fresh and delicate tones.

Technic Drawing

Drawing is a technique of visual representation on a flat support. The term "drawing" designates both the action of drawing, the resulting graphic work, and the shape of any object. It is also a representation on a surface of the shape (and possibly the light and shadow values) of an object or figure, rather than their color. There are a large number of drawing techniques: “Linear drawing” represents objects by their outlines, edges and some characteristic lines; beyond this limit, the drawing develops by representing the volume by shadows, often by means of hatching, incorporates colors, and joins, without clear transition, the painting.

Lithuania

Natalie Levkovska is an experienced Lithuanian painter and illustrator. In 1995, she obtained a degree in stone, bone and wood processing from a master artist (Abramtsevo College of Applied Arts), and in 1999 she completed a degree in costume design (Vilnius Academy of Arts). She then became a costume designer for the cinema industry, and later a fur designer. In 2006, she decided to change her life: she moved to London to work in a design studio, and started to experiment oil painting.

She creates simple and poetic artworks, mixing surrealism and naive art. Her artistic universe is a kind of magic realism: she likes to show real life objects and try to bring out the magical pulsation of space. The plots of her creations are taken from her life: a birch glade near her house at different times of the year, the portrait of a loved one, her village in the snow...

Natalie Levkovska have organized 19 personal exhibitions, participated in a lot of paintings and drawings events, and her drawings can be found in many private collections.
