My name is Marina. I discovered a linocut printmaking when I went to Voronezh Art College in 2016. I have idea and I desided to make some fantasy pictures. As soon as I started I was immediately addicted by printmaking.
I like the simplicity of this technique. You can use a limited amount of colors and it`s enough to express yourself. Linocut make you be clear in your mind and in your composition.
I work on a small scale. That`s dictated by the materials and tools that I use. It`s a hand-print, I rub prints with the back of a spoon. That`s why every sheet is unique and special. I change the amount of paint and the pressure force to find new impression.
I am inspired by dreams and folk tales, grandmother`s stories about witchcraft. It really impressed me and I want to express it in prints. My favorite artists - Vrubel, Roerich, Shiele and Modigliani.
Also I am fond of oil painting. In last year me and my friends organized a painting exhibition "The Beginning" in Liskinsky Museum of History and Local Lore. Participating in exhibitions is really important to me, I involve in regional vernissage and exhibitions in other cities.
