Alain Goussens is a contemporary Belgian painter. Having graduated in Applied Arts - Decorative Arts, he pursued sketching courses at the Academy of Fine Arts in Charleroi. Additionally, he studied the restoration of art paintings and began exhibiting in galleries as early as 1983. His artistic endeavors encompass various modes of expression, including drawing, charcoal work, and oil painting, with the latter becoming his preferred technique. Above all, he considers himself a skilled draftsman, viewing painting as both a necessity and the optimal means to convey his emotions and aspirations. Painting represents the culmination of ideas sketched within the depths of his subconscious. The artist, akin to a poet, exalts the truth, even if it is tinged with melancholy, living through, for, and within his art.
