I like to use this technical process - tearing up drawings and sticking them back on top of others in order to obtain a new image, like the literary technique of "Cut-up", much used in particular by Williams Burroughs in the years 60.
A technique that brings many surprises and offers great freedom.
Drawing of an imaginary architectural fragment, part of the eponymous series. It is made with a ballpoint pen, on a spiral notebook page, then deliberately torn and reattached using tape on a blank sheet of thick paper, then completed. Claude Duvauchelle is a contemporary French artist. For the past two decades, he has been fascinated by the human body. It is an endless source of inspiration for him, allowing him to express the emotions, anxieties, and hopes of modern man. He attempts to depict the problems and alienation caused by modern civilization's violence. Duvauchelle represents a humanity turned to its original bestiality, slave to its most destructive inclinations, constantly changing the techniques and content to avoid redundancy.
Claude Duvauchelle was born in 1953, in France. His works were shown in solo and group exhibitions all over France.
