Armen Manukyan-Burovtsov (armmenart) is an artist who expresses himself through photography, sculpture, ceramics, stained glass, drawing, and painting. An experimentalist by nature, he often mixes different, often unusual materials and original techniques, bringing to light unique objets d'art. From museum pieces to interior-forming objects, forming space and light or utilitarian items of everyday life-all these are constant searches and experiments; all of them are unique, unrepeated, and original.
Armen Manukyan-Burovtsov was born in 1976 in the USSR in Leningrad into a family of architects and artists. He was always surrounded by creativity and people involved in art. After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in 2000, Armen left to work in Ireland, Dublin, where he was engaged in developing and designing public interiors. When he returned to Russia in 2002, he pursued a career in architecture and urban planning. Having designed for some of the biggest property developers in St Petersburg, his meteoric rise to the top of a large design organization at the age of 35, dealing with complex territory development from conception to realization, but architecture, and town planning, in particular, is a highly regulated activity. When it has become essential to create freely, without being constrained by the regulations and requirements of the client, then he has decided to start to be an artist.
