Woko J Aguru, born in Rivers State in 1971 he is a painter and sculptor.
Aguru's interest in art began at the age of five, relying on replicating drawings, especially cartoons from local magazines and bubble gum wraps. He studied sculpture at the University of Port Harcourt and graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and has remained consistent with art practice ever since.
Aguru has been featured in several exhibitions including Clearing the Air, at Moriri Gallery of Contemporary Art, Port Harcourt in 2022; Weathering the Storm, Tales of Rivers, Bougainvilla Hotel, Port Harcourt in 2022; New Narrative, Moriri Gallery of Contemporary Art, Port Harcourt in 2021; Miniature Art Expo, Mega Plaza, Lagos in 2018; amongst others .
