Endless railway tracks, stations, crossings, entrance and route traffic lights, fuel oil on wagons and texture of oil residues. Through the present into the future. But at the same time the past and the future converge in the present. Abandoned railway junctions, rusty cars, once relevant, now untimely monuments of space-time.

Trainspotting as a fixation of the moment in the creation of new aesthetic meanings. Trainspotting as a contemplation of the rapid dynamics of life. Trainspotting as a reflection on life and oblivion. Three different views, united by painting, which acts as a kind of accumulator of time, in its unbiased fixation.

Vladyslav Riaboshtan is a contemporary Ukrainian artist. He employs various mediums, including oil, acrylic, enamel, silkscreen printing, aerosol, mixed media, paper, graphite, and photography to create his distinctive artworks. Rooted in his childhood experiences, Vladyslav's artistic journey finds inspiration in the industrial landscapes that once surrounded him, including factories, railways, and an unfinished subway system. These early impressions left an indelible mark on his creative sensibilities.

Even as Vladyslav transitioned to a different city in his adulthood, he retained a deep-seated desire to capture the essence of the locations to which he had become so accustomed. His art seeks to preserve the unique atmospheres of these places that had a profound impact on his formative years.

In his latest project, Vladyslav has embarked on a significant undertaking - a large series dedicated to the Kyiv subways. However, the project has taken on a transformative dimension. It now centers on the subway as a sanctuary, a safe haven from the terrifying specter of rockets and explosions, a stark reflection of the realities of war.

Through his art, Vladyslav Riaboshtan strives to convey the profound changes brought about by this harrowing experience. His work not only illustrates what has evolved but also delves into the reasons behind these transformations, providing a poignant window into the evolving consciousness of a nation grappling with the challenges of conflict. Vladyslav's creations serve as a testament to the resilience and adaptability of the human spirit in the face of adversity, narrating a compelling story through the language of visual art.
