At the age of 38, Nègre made the bold decision to embark on a new chapter in her professional life, dedicating herself fully to painting. Under the tutelage of Monique Baroni, she honed her craft, bringing her subjects to life with layers of pigment, acrylic, and masking. While her paintings often feature flowers, herds, human bodies, and faces, they are united by a common thread—a sensitivity to the canvas's surface.

For Nègre, figuration serves as a mere pretext, as her true focus lies on the interplay of emotions and matter. She seamlessly blends figurative elements with abstract aspects, inviting viewers to engage their imagination and interpretation. Her artistic philosophy centers on listening to one's desires, a sentiment she encourages in her students as well.
