Viorel Rusu

Viorel Rusu is a contemporary Romanian painter. A graduate of the "Ion Mincu" Faculty of Architecture from Bucharest, in the early years he worked in the field, but not for long. Object design and especially packaging design attracted him so that he dedicated more than 20 years specializing in this field. Painting has always been his great passion. Influenced by Renaissance painters in particular, but also by contemporaries, Viorel Rusu tried in his painting to give form and color to thoughts, emotions, instincts.

The female nude is his favorite subject, but the thought behind the image is what actually generates everything. The position, the shape, the color...all are meant to show the thought as faithfully as possible. As he used to say "Thought is the only generator of emotion. Actions are just emotions in motion"
