Vilmos fue un pintor Húngaro que vivió buena parte de su vida en México. Nació el 25 de abril de 1917 en Brassó, Transilvania, Hungría.
En la obra de Vilmos Szöts (pinturas al óleo, gouache, acuarela, dibujos, cerámica, mosaicos, vitrales) vemos la nostalgia y añoranza por su patria; retratos fieles del folklore húngaro: jóvenes ataviadas, con los trajes típicos, guerreros y héroes nacionales como Árpád considerado el fundador de Hungría, bosques y caballos rodeados de la magia de Transilvania.
El amor a su patria lo llevo al activismo en pro de lo húngaro; fue Miembro fundador de la “Federación Mundial de Artistas Húngaros” desde 1971, y participó en exhibiciones que promovían la lucha por la libertad de Hungría, incluso publicó un libro, “La Lucha por la Libertad de Hungría”, en 1966. Durante su vida Vilmos Szöts tuvo numerosas exhibiciones de su obra: en Hungría, Rumanía, Alemania, Austria, México, Francia, Estados Unidos, Indonesia, Rusia y la antigua Yugoslavia. El profesor Szöts murió inesperadamente en 1992.
