Zenko Vasily Vasilyevich was born in 1977 in Stolbtsy (Belarus).
From 1989 to 1996 he studied at the Belarusian Lyceum of Arts. In 2006 he graduated from the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, department of monumental and decorative art.
He devotes most of his creative activity to monumental and decorative art. Preferred techniques: painting walls and ceilings, mosaics, relief, stained glass. The artist’s creative portfolio includes such significant monumental projects as the relief “TIME” (115 m²) for the State Institution “Republican Clinical Medical Center”; painting of ceilings and walls (40 m²) in the Palace of Independence; painting of the exhibition hall (70 m²) in the National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Nesvizh" according to the project of D.O. Sursky and A.G. Trusova; relief “Ancient Greece” (27 m²) at the joint venture “Brestgazoapparat” GEFEST; relief (10 m²) in the sanatorium “Priozerny”; painting (6 m²) in the Center for Ecological Tourism “Stankovo” and others. In 2019–2021 led a group of artists from the section of monumental and decorative art of the BSH to perform sgraffito on the facades of the Old Castle in Grodno during its restoration.
Successfully engaged in easel painting. He creates works using his own technique, which are marked by originality and his own view of the interaction between nature and man. The author's technique is based on writing with acrylic on canvas using various textures, washes, the finest glazes, and volumetric contours. The paintings contain a deep understanding of the laws of existence, philosophical problems that are always relevant for humanity. The artist poetizes natural phenomena, weaving filigree relief arabesques from lines.
Since 1995, he has been actively participating in exhibitions, including international and national ones. To date, he has implemented more than 10 personal projects in Minsk (including the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus and the National Center for Contemporary Arts), Warsaw (Poland), Vienna (Austria), Vitebsk (Belarus), Moscow (Russia), Paris (France) ). The artist’s personal projects are always distinguished by the creativity of ideas, an innovative approach to the implementation of plans, and the use of performative practices.
Active. works on an inclusive direction in creativity, creating paintings for blind and visually impaired people. Poetic lines in Braille are integrated into the works. Currently, the exhibition of inclusive works by Vasily Zenko consists of 3 projects and includes 22 pictorial and tactile works.
