Schizophrenia
A person is multifaceted.
One’s personality is not defined by just one aspect of a person’s life.
A person may be spiritual, sensual, or irrational at the same time.
These characteristics not only define our personality but makes us unique from any other individual.
Each person has its own concept of reality. A reality that he or she may only understand.
This exhibition investigates emotions, imagery, memory and personality patterns. The creation of realities beyond the conventional. Storytelling from the eyes of a child. Whispers from a child within. Screams from the mind. Dreams and fantasies we create. We have our own angels and demons, stop and listen.
From the process of drawing, the artist attempts to create narratives from diverse sources of images. The artist utilizes imagery from various fields such as religion, sexuality and popular culture and plays with them in order to create tensions and nuances on their meanings.
It is hoped that the exhibition would inspire the viewer to explore his own persona through observing and interpreting the different visual elements in the space.
