"The Art of Reflection: Patterns and Reflections in glass, arises out of living in an urban environment where manmade monoliths burst forth from the city concrete, reflecting and refracting the scenes that surround them, creating art in patterns, colors and textures by distorting and contorting images into something other than what they are. What is reflected back forms unique patterns and reflections in the glass of the windows of the buildings of a city. I find these the patterns, forms and textures art, and so I try to frame them in my minds eye and capture them in my photos. And as the earth makes its way around the sun, the image changes and by nightfall is something else entirely or disappeared completely, until the next sunrise when the building becomes a canvas for artistic reflection once again. As much as I love the beauty that nature creates in landscapes, manmade beauty can be found not only in the geometry of architecture but in the reflections you can find on any building on any day of any city if you just look with a different perspective. I am a fine art and freelance photographer living and working in Chicago, Illinois, USA".

Sheryl is een professionele vrouwenfotograaf. Voor haar komt The Art of Reflection: Patterns and Reflections in glass voort uit het leven in een stedelijke omgeving waar door de mens gemaakte monolieten uit het stadsbeton barsten, de scènes eromheen reflecteren en weerkaatsen, kunst creëren in patronen, kleuren en texturen door beelden vervormen en verdraaien tot iets anders dan wat ze zijn. Wat wordt teruggekaatst, vormt unieke patronen en reflecties in het glas van de ramen van de gebouwen van een stad?

Ze vindt deze patronen, vormen en texturen kunst, en daarom probeert ze ze in haar geestesoog te kadreren en vast te leggen in haar foto's. En terwijl de aarde rond de zon draait, verandert het beeld, en tegen het vallen van de avond is iets anders geheel of helemaal verdwenen, tot de volgende zonsopgang wanneer het gebouw weer een canvas voor artistieke reflectie wordt. Hoezeer ze ook houdt van de schoonheid die de natuur in landschappen creëert, door de mens veroorzaakte schoonheid is niet alleen te vinden in de geometrie van architectuur, maar ook in de weerspiegelingen die je kunt vinden op elk gebouw op elke dag van elke stad als je maar vanuit een ander perspectief kijkt.
