Roger Selden è nato a Brooklyn, New York il 20 Marzo 1945 ha studiato pittura con Isaac Soyer al Museo di Brooklyn dal 1957 al 1962.
Ha frequentato la scuola di Belle Arti Tyler a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, dove ha conseguito il diploma nel 1966. Roger Selden was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 20, 1945. He studied painting with Isaac Soyer at the Brooklyn Museum from 1957 to 1962. He attended the Tyler School of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he received his diploma in 1966. During the summer of 1964 in Paris he studied painting with George Mc Neil and graphics with Antonio Frasconi. In 1966 he arrived in Italy, where he graduated in Rome in Fine Arts. Since 1971 he has been represented internationally by the Galleria Il Naviglio in Milan. In 1999 Selden was commissioned by the German designer Dieter Sieger to make the first large sculpture for " ;Sculpture Garden" at Harkotten Castle, Munster, Germany. Since 1994 Selden has collaborated with Sieger Design producing numerous projects for Ritzenhoff.Roger Selden is a "pop" artist: "If an ordinary object, a part of you in everyday life, is Can abstract be defined as pop? If it doesn't have to be primitive enough or have a geometric shape to show an organic essence. Selden's work continually proposes an appearance of simple objects that represent reality or vice versa produce an objective fiction. The art critic Peter Frank writes of him: 'Selden's works are fragments of the great catalog of the universe, where no object, no supreme order reigns in their dissemination'. Selden lives and works in Milan and New York.
