My name is Roberto García López, since I was very young my friends have called me Rob. I was born in Madrid in 1964, my parents are from the North of Palencia, almost in the province of León, next to Asturias, it is the Palentina Mountain, the foothills of the Picos de Europa to the South, hence my love for mountains.

I graduated in Economics from the Autonomous University and went to Malaga to live and work as a Graphic Designer. I worked at Announcements Diana and Gráficas Urania for more than 30 years. Turning my art into advertising creativity.

From my professional beginnings I began to long for contact with "the matter", at work; I ended up getting fed up with the computer, even the drawings were made with the graphics tablet, stylus. So fed up and tired that I escaped, when I could, to the Montes de Málaga and took to the forest trails and forests. I remember one rainy day, I stood next to a puddle in a clay area, I picked up mud with my hands and screamed while kneading the clay. "This is real." I still remember the softness of the clay, the humidity, the smell of wet earth, the aroma of pines and carob trees.

With the Covid pandemic I changed course and threw myself into rubbing up against the rocks, seeking to know them, trying how each type of stone could be worked... I set up my Sculpture and Painting Studio in a farmhouse, surrounded by avocados, nature , mountains, dogs and stones, many stones.
