I am Pitar Alakhume a Lagos based painter and an art instructor. I acquired my tertiary art training at the University of Benin. Edo state. Nigeria, where I majored in painting. As a painter, I have participated in selected art programs like the “Topcon” (Texaco, Chevron, NNPC). lkoyi Lagos exhibition, which was a group exhibition held in 1997, ‘The Arrival of the Cubist,” which was a solo exhibition at Wangboje’s Art Gallery. lkoyi in 1999 and “Set A New Standard", which was also a group exhibition in lkoyi, Lagos in 2001. I have worked in workshops like the Colour masters through 1999 at the University of Benin and was an instructor of the weekend art classes from then on till 2017 at Wangboje’s art gallery in lkoyi, Lagos.
I am now an instructor at the Nike Art centers and an art facilitator at Edu-craft project (multimedia painting classes) at lkoyi. Lagos.
