Francisco Llorens Llopis, from Cabañal, Valencia, Spain, was born on January 5, 1947 and died on October 20, 2023. He was a contemporary abstract painter.

In his work he reflects his interest in nature, his concern for the environment and his relationship with humanity.

From the late 80s to the mid 90s his work interprets the relationship between man and the forest. On his canvases, abused natures agonise, they exhibit their wounds through fire, ash, and the residue left by the lack of communion with it. His paintings not only speak of opacity and death, but their colours nevertheless show hope and the rebirth of life. The material, the tars, the burnt paper and an experimental technique carried out with a blowtorch on the acrylic paint, then sweeping it with water, are the resources that give expression to his creativity.

Due to the crisis in the art world, it allowed him to reflect for a while and he returned to it with new ideas at the beginning of the 2000s, creating a small numbered collection called De lo irrational, in which he delves into concepts such as real-visible, hidden-irrational.

After this stage of about 5 years, he evolved into Pure Abstraction, creating a multitude of works in diverse formats, from Basik paper glued on wood to canvas on a stretcher. The medium is once again acrylic, where he develops naturally.

His inspiration was inexhaustible and insatiable until the end of his life, even as his health progressively worsened until his death at the age of 76.
