When we first drove up to the lake, I was struck by the incredible emerald color of the water. It was as if the liquid turquoise of the world had been poured out and flowed between the same dark emerald mountains.
This color of water can only be found in the Maldives or Thailand, but I didn't expect to see it in Europe.
I painted the sketch very quickly because the heat was 42 degrees Celsius and the watercolor paints instantly.
Each painting from this series carries a mood of relaxation and rest. Watercolor allows you to convey the light energy and bright colors that can be seen and felt only by the sea.
