Nathalie Molla is a contemporary French artist. Molla, born into an artistic family in Annecy, thrived in an environment that nurtured creativity, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to her dual passions for music and drawing from an early age. Her profound love for the arts took her on a journey, first to Chambéry, where she studied advertising graphics, and then to Avignon and Reims, where she received training as a set painter. She further honed her skills by completing her education at the Florence School of Fine Arts in Italy. Currently residing in Haute-Savoie, this passionate and versatile painter divides her time between cultivating her own artistic creations, teaching, and conducting numerous workshops across France as an ambassador and expert in fine art materials.
For several years now, Molla has centered her artistic exploration on the vibrant world of color, which she skillfully combines with personal and impactful messages. Typically, her creative process commences with a sketch on paper, followed by the careful selection of a medium that best suits the subject she aims to depict. Utilizing acrylics and inks, applied with either a brush or a palette knife, she immortalizes renowned figures whose commitment to their craft inspires her, including American painter Jean-Michel Basquiat, Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, and musician Jimi Hendrix. Molla's portraits exude energy and grandeur, seamlessly blending mixed media techniques to achieve a distinctly contemporary outcome that lies somewhere between the aesthetics of pop art and street art.
