MERCEDES APARICIO, is a very recognized Cantabrian painter, very talented, dedicated and completely dedicated to her creative and artistic work since 1984. She has exhibited in many cities in Spain, in several cities in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Paris, etc.

He was born in a house surrounded by nature next to the Velarde Palace, in Muriedas de Camargo, Santander, Cantabria, Spain.
In 1958, at the age of 5, She entered the Muriedas de Camargo school and finished high school at the Astillero Institute.
In 1966, she studied German and French, since her parents took her to live in Switzerland.
In 1969 she studied guitar and singing at the music conservatory of Schaffhausen, Switzerland.
From 1973 - 1975 he studied German, English and French at the Higher College of Translators and Interpreters in Zürich.
In 1978 he discovered Art and enrolled and studied at the School of Arts and Crafts, Kunstgewerbeschule in Bern.
From 1983/84 he began to dedicate himself to painting in depth.
In 1985 he held his first exhibition in Santander.
Mercedes Aparicio is one of the Cantabrian painters with the greatest artistic projection. See List of individual and group exhibitions.

In 2007 and 2009 he illustrated two stories that his mother Mercedes Toledo wrote: “Lara in the forest” and “An tender love.” In 1989 he illustrated his own book “AMORDISCOPIA”. In 1990 he illustrated several books by the Cantabrian poet Luisa Maria Castillo.
From 2010 - 2013 he studied Art and Humanities at Arthur Findlay College in Stansted, England.

He worked for peace and harmony through the cathartic properties of Art. Art with a capital letter, which has the power to promote the transformation of conflicts through non-violence, creativity, empathy, etc.
In 2014 Mercedes had the inspiration to undertake a new project and unite art, music and the sung word.
In 2018 he met the musician Pierre Matthey and since then they have been working together on this new project.

Mercedes Aparicio has been going through different artistic genres between Switzerland and Spain for 39 years with an indomitable discipline that she has expressly mentioned when explaining her creative process until reaching, when words are not enough, “the birth of a new being” . His multifaceted work has not responded to utilitarian or fashionable conveniences.
