Maya Bt

Self-taught since a young age, I began to take an interest in art during my childhood. At the age of 8, I started copying drawings by eye and was quickly noticed by one of my teachers who enrolled me in my first competition.  I won the 2nd prize in a drawing competition that focused on the Algerian revolution. I then started taking drawing and painting classes at the Higher School of Fine Arts in Algiers, where I developed a liking for acrylic and oil painting. To this day, I paint what allows me to resonate; I started with still lifes and later ventured into portraits.

As a painter, I strive to demonstrate technical diversity and a profound sense of aesthetics in each of my creations. Each of my paintings reveals distinct elements and unique artistic choices, attesting to my technical mastery and creativity.

My ability to capture natural beauty and everyday life is manifested through colorful details and vibrant representation. Each piece I create seems to transport the viewer to a different world, illustrating the extent of my diverse artistic universe. My ability to play with colors, symbols, and details reflects a deep understanding of artistic expression and mastery of symbolic composition.

The African scenes I paint reveal a deep connection to nature and daily life on the continent. My intention is to convey the beauty, simplicity, and cultural richness of these environments through my works.

The use of strong symbols in several of my paintings reinforces the themes of connection, diversity, and nature. I enjoy playing with imagination, inviting viewers to explore alternative worlds through my creations.

Each of my paintings tells a distinct story and evokes specific emotions. My extensive palette of artistic expressions is evident through the judicious use of symbols, colors, and details, creating works that transcend mere visual representation.
