Pourquoi certaines personnes m’attirent et d’autres pas du tout? Je dirais qu’en premier lieu ça pourrait-être un réflexe inconscient. « Les affinités les plus profondes sont les plus spontanément senties » dit George Santayana. Par contre dans un second temps, c’est une question de points communs. Le courant passe ou ne passe pas. Souvent, la compatibilité dépend de nos affinités communes et de notre connaissance de l’autre en l’écoutant, en le regardant être et agir. Comme dit Henri-Frédéric Amiel : « Comment savoir ce qu'un individu est ? À ses actes d'abord, mais à autre chose encore, et qui ne se perçoit que par l'intuition. L'âme juge l'âme par affinité élective, à travers les paroles et le silence, les actions et le regard ».
Les affinités sont aussi une question de goûts, de culture et d’attirance pour les mêmes intérêts. Par contre, paradoxalement, mon intérêt pour l’autre sera alimenté par l’inconnu, le mystère, la différence. Il est certain que si deux individus se fréquentent parce qu’ils sont identiques à tout point de vue, ils ne s’enrichissent ni l’un ni l’autre et l’ennui risque fort d’être au rendez-vous.

Painting Pastel

Pastel is an instrument widely used in plastic arts. Taking the form of a colored plastic stick, it is composed of pigments, a filler (chalk or plaster) and a binder (gum arabic, oil, wax). We mainly distinguish fatty pastels (oil or wax), dry pastels, whether soft or hard. Invented in Europe at the end of the 15th century, this tool was very quickly used by great portrait painters of French royalty, such as Charles Le Brun, Rosalba Carriera, Jean Siméon Chardin or Maurice Quentin de La Tour, who will be considered the "Prince of pastellists", thanks to a method of fixation of which only he knew the secret.

Pastel

Drawing made with a colored stick. It consists of pigments, a charge and a binder. A distinction is made between dry pastels (soft or hard) and fatty pastels (oil or wax).

Technic Painting

Painting is an art form of painting on a surface by aesthetically applying colored fluids. Painters represent a very personal expression on supports such as paper, rock, canvas, wood, bark, glass, concrete and many other substrates. Work of representation or invention, painting can be naturalistic and figurative, or abstract. It can have narrative, descriptive, symbolic, spiritual, or philosophical content.

Having completed my artistic studies at the Superior School of Applied Arts in Paris, over the years, I have revived my resources in my Masters in Plastic Arts Education studies and through my commitment to teaching. I then broadened my means of expression and embarked on sculpture, engraving (etching and screen printing). Then comes the exploration of various processes and materials (including plaster and tissue paper) that led me to use mixed techniques. In recent years and still today, I favor acrylic painting which leaves a lot of freedom, and almost always pastels and various grease pencils add to what acrylic cannot.
