Cows (2015) Schilderij door Margarita Felis

I painted this composition in Missouri USA when I was In art residence Paul Art Space. I invented this picture before and in the art residence I had good conditions and space to paint a big picture. I was surrounded by beautiful nature, my studio was located in a forest and wild animals came to the house from time to time. I like to paint animals in their wild environment and I tried to represent the cows in generalised and monumental way. I wanted my spectators would see eternity through it.

The style of my paintings could be called "tending to postmodernism”, because I use lines, decorative shapes, interpret and stylize objects , trying to find some conventional, only my own reality. Colors for me are extremely important, I try them to carry emotions and philosophy. Also I often explore capability of the modern paints and materials.

In my paintings I may give only a hint to contemporariety or even not to do it at all, trying to make them to look generalized and "out of time”, because I try to invent kind of another reality, where the characters live their emotional spiritual life. In majority my characters are nude young women, they are naked because I represent them like rather spiritual essences but not everyday living persons.
