It´s me (2023) Peinture par Kostadin Hristov

I am an artist who was born with this gift in 1965. I have never in my life studied the art and techniques of oil painting. Everything that can be seen in my paintings such as compositions, technique and colour combinations are something that I have within myself.

I discovered that I can paint, when I was 14 years old. Since then I always paint.

In 1991, the University of Fine Arts in Memphis in the state of Tennessee in the United States accepted me to study at their university. They even gave me a student scholarship before starting the study, but the political situation at this time in my native country Bulgaria did not allow me to go and study in the USA. I lost this CHANCE.

Then in the year 1992 an art collector from Holland has discovered me and has started to buy all my paintings in the next 4 years.

I was at this time an electronic engineering student. Now I am designing heart Pacemaker devices. 

Until now I continue to paint and sell when I can.

The time has come to return to actively painting and I am no longer going to interrupt.

All my paintings are made with a palette knife to paint with oil on canvas.

The spatula technique allows me to achieve a new effect of punctuated or a new type of impressionism, called expressionism by mixing the colours by overlaying several colours with a thin layer and different destination and in the end the eye can see the transition from one colour to another colour with a mixture of multicolored fibbers that make the transit more natural for the eye and more original without losing the contrast of the paint as it normally happens when painting with a brush.

Furthermore, this technique makes me very different from the existing styles and is a mix between 19th century impressionism and the abstraction of the present.

Using the mixing of colours with the spatula allows all the colours to be seen without removing the previous colour or previous colours, also keeping the strong contrasting effect of the coloured fibbers without losing the brightness like painting with a paintbrush... This technique also brings an effect of superimposing layers of paint with a flat surface like glass.

My paintings are the same as in the photos, made from both sides in my gallery catalog.

My pictures have great deep embossed oil painting effects, handmade.

The client will be very happy with the quality and the composition and the colours when he receives the unique original painting. I never paint a painting twice.
