The painting depicts the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea in the Costa del Sol with the cool waters hitting the rocks and the distant view of the Rock of Gibraltar.
The painting is inspired by a fusion of two previous paintings, ¨Rocky shore at Manilva Costa¨ and ¨Coastal Sunset in Manilva¨.
However, this piece is completed with a looser and more abstract style which marks the progression of Kirsty Wains´ recent sea paintings.
The painting continues around the edges and can be hung as is.
Signed on the front Wain 2024

´There exists a correlation between the soul, place, and destiny, and my paintings serve as a representation of this connection¨.
Kirsty Wain, a talented contemporary British painter currently based in Spain, explores the profound connection between the soul, place, and destiny through her artwork, which has been featured in prestigious exhibitions such as 'Being with Trees' in Gibraltar and 'Regeneration' at the Hansard Studio in London. Her pieces, which focus on the beauty of landscapes, can be found in private collections worldwide, as she employs color and line to capture the true essence of each location with a sense of liberation and individuality.
Kirsty Wainś landscape art endeavors to encapsulate the intrinsic nature of a location by employing a liberal approach, utilizing color and line to construct a harmonious arrangement. The influence of post-impressionism resonates throughout her creations, characterized by the application of thick, textured paint onto the canvas. Enthused by the perpetual beauty of the natural world, Kirsty Wain finds inspiration in the intricate details of trees, the undulating contours of the terrain, the vastness of the ocean, and the captivating allure of the skies. Each place holds significance for Wain, evoking vivid recollections of a fleeting instant or a poignant memory.
