Kary Rai (Karina Evstropova, born 1984) is an independent experienced artist, whose artworks are in private collections in Russia, USA and Europe. She was born and grew up in Saint-Petersburg.
From early childhood she had a passion to different kinds of art: drawing, music, dancing, and philosophy. Art has always been a dream that constantly knocks on the door of her heart. From a young age she had a dream to become a professional artist, but at the insistence of her parents she had to enter the Saint-Petersburg State University at the Faculty of Law. In law she has achieved a great success, but the lack of art in her life made her feel unhappy, despite her success in career and social life. After the birth of her child, Kary finally decided to change her life and to dive into the world of Art, abandoning a successful career as a lawyer. Kary likes to compare herself to one of the founders of the abstract art Wassily Kandinsky, who was a successful lawyer before to become a great artist.
Kary believes that the purpose of Art is to revive the viewer. On the one hand, to revive him through awakening his feelings and emotions (and not always positive ones). On the other hand, to revive him through awakening his mind by attracting attention to the problems of ecology, globalization, etc. With the help of shapes and colour, Kary revive the viewer and considers this her mission.
