Jim Nagoya is a visual painter who lives and works in France.
He trained at the School of Fine Arts in Paris and Amiens.

Very young, his inner necessity pushes him to draw in order to transcribe the world in order to make it his own.
He draws his inspiration from the Cobra movement, Street Art, German expressionism, surrealism, new figuration, American expressionist abstraction...
He joined the TBS collective with Jone Hopper and Skepa in order to confront the integration of art in the urban.
He absorbs and digests all these universes in order to create a personal world imbued with his own symbolism.
Influenced by Baselitz, Picasso, Bacon, Basquiat and Condo as well as by the readings of Kerouac, Castaneda and Burroughs. . the writers and filmmakers of California in the sixties, it is quite natural that an American adventure allowed him to rub shoulders with a renowned painter from Los Angeles with whom he worked for several years.
Back in France, he immersed himself and presented his painting again in national salons in which he obtained several prizes. He regularly exhibits at the Grand Palais in Paris

Thus his work is present in numerous private and public collections.
(town halls, departmental councils, etc.)
