Qual è l'origine della tecnica Gouache

La guazzo è una sostanza che utilizza un legante (glicerina) o un solvente gommato a base d'acqua (gomma arabica). Coprente e coprente (a differenza dell'acquerello), si mescola facilmente e si diluisce con acqua (tempera). Ampiamente usato dagli artisti, il termine guazzo designa sia il materiale, che si trova in un tubo, sia il risultato, che si osserva sulla tela. Le sostanze coloranti vengono diluite con acqua e rese pastose e opache con l'aggiunta di gomma e miele. I colori diventano opachi e possono, quindi, sovrapporsi, cosicché si dipinge sia a guazzo che a olio. La guazzo è consigliata per i suoi toni luminosi, freschi e delicati. Alcuni artisti famosi si sono distinti nell'uso di questa tecnica, in particolare il francese Paul Gauguin.
