Stay with me (2023) Sculpture by Hélène Lelimouzin

Hélène Lelimouzin was born in 1977, visual artist, she has been practicing her art in a multidisciplinary way for 25 years. The exploration of media is at the center of his approach, his graphic writing takes on its full meaning with his works made on fiberglass, words, drips, tags, come together in mastered and contemporary compositions, covered with 'an ultra shiny varnish. The frame is defined by hand stitching using linen thread. His studies of Applied Arts and Plastic Arts triggered a visceral attraction for a certain form of Pop Art, and especially for the artist who triggered his artistic aspirations, Cy Twombly. In his work, we find his sources of pictorial inspiration but also his taste for poetry, words sometimes borrowed in particular from Pablo Neruda, the master of “love” in his eyes. Love, the reconnection to our desires, is the “meeting” point between his graphic language, words, tags, stencils and very assertive compositions. His works are intended to be sensitive and memorial objects. It all starts from the idea of ​​a fabric, a moving scarf, suspended in the air. The folds appear like the movement of time, frozen, a sort of archeology of memory.
The words play between appearance and erasure like a palimpsest. The gestures, the repeated words, accentuate the movement, the work appears suspended between two universes. The words chosen reflect his moments of life, a personal gift to others to make them universal.
