Héctor Acevedo is an award-winning contemporary Peruvian artist. Simultaneously, he studied civil engineering, painting and drawing. Both careers require extremely specific work and possibly provide the aspiring artist with different ideas about life. In the midst of a difficult choice between the requirements of engineering studies and the essential devotion to art, Acevedo opts for the practice of fine arts, where he discovers his true vocation and finds his personal fulfillment.
He received numerous honorable mentions and awards for his works, including First Prize at the XIV Florence Biennial with Scan Art 2023 in Italy; the First Prize at the V International Biennial of Argentina 2022 in Buenos Aires; the Fourth Prize at the XIII Florence Biennale 2021 in Italy; the Certificate of Recognition for the Best Performance 2020 “Art of Being Alone” in New York, USA; and Honorable mention in the “XVII Valdepeñas Contest”. Spring Hall for the lands of Castilla de la Mancha of the Municipal Museum of Valdepeñas, Spain among other honorable mentions in national and international competitions.
Héctor Acevedo was born in 1963, in Lima, Peru, where he graduated from the National School of Fine Arts of Peru. He exhibited his works in Peru, USA, Belgium, Spain, Italy and other European countries. Acevedo lives and works in Spain.
