Gabriele Fabris transforms the substance of images to life and reveals the mysteries hidden in the depths of feeling. His paintings make the memory animated, they move the passions of the soul with the systematic relationship between natural objects and situations. It almost seems as if his woods are embellished with nymphs, in the folds of the air fragile grassy curls gather, wrapped from a colored cloud.
The fundamental theme of his poetics is nature, the omnipresent background of human events, immersed in natural cycles, which proceed on parallel planes, but on opposing times. The reason for the fertility of nature, prosperous and beneficial, appears clearly. He doesn't send messages to the world, he doesn't get drunk on high, solemn and grandiloquent forms; the appearance is revealed to the eyes of the beholder. The beauty of his flower compositions appears as a metaphor for life that can give intense and joyful moments. Fleshy roses, bright poppies, jagged carnations and white calla lilies triumph. The wild gold of the sunflower, a star fallen into the earth, a crest star, recalls the color of the brooms, slightly darkened by the light that emanates from the burning resin. Fabris achieves gentle harmonies in colour, between the ashy pallor of the stems and the faded purples, the washed out blues, the bright or dark greens of the penumbra. The wide meadows emit festive trills, surrounded by flowers whose petals are crimson and purple.
Fabris' painting is not a diversion, a purely contemplative escape, which constitutes a restful pause between the events of life, but mixes with these events and tries to follow them and express them in his symbolic way, using that freedom of in the face of tradition which is the hallmark of art
