Born in 1949, in Namur (Belgium), Francis Gengoux followed a classical training at the Académie des beaux-arts Alphonse Darville, in Charleroi (Belgium).
Marcel Gibon and André Goessens were among his best teachers. For the secrets of the composition, the Positive Aesthetics deeply marked the artistic training of Francis Gengoux. This apology of nuance could be summarized as follows: "It is through excess that knowledge flourishes; it is through knowledge that excess is measured." Taught in Brussels and Charleroi by Emile Tainmont, this theory remains a reference for the artist.
Before 1980, he multiplied professional experiences in architecture, comics, medicine (urology), aeronautics, graphics. He then emigrated to the south of France where he fulfilled several missions as a draftsman (coordination, congress, computer, screen printing). Seduced by the beauty of the landscapes of the Mediterranean Riviera, he favors photography and prides himself on the game: he becomes for ten years freelance photographer reporter and wins his press card American Economic Press Agency. He was seen attending several artists of the Ecole de Nice: César, Arman, Ben, Venet, Tobiasse, Chubac…
In 1983, he obtained the Jury Prize awarded by the International Academy of Phidias, painting section.
Returning to his native country in 1996, he now takes advantage of his retirement to deepen his art, where his oscillation between figurative (thesis) and abstract (antithesis) forces him to a synthesis not to die without having expressed his expressionist style.
On the technical level, following the favours of acrylic, he now finds the spells of oil painting whose potential of expression remains infinite.
Member of the A.D.A.G.P. (Association Des Artistes Graphiques et Plastiques), in Paris, since 1987, he lives and paints meditating especially on the theme of the Four Seasons, in Hastière-par-delà. Several collectors have followed him faithfully since 1983. Cote Akoun.
