Eweje Emmanuel a.k.a Ewe who was born 4th April, hails from Agbeye, Odo-otin local government, Osun State. He studied Fine and Applied art from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife. He trained under Nike centre for art and culture and Atamora pottery respectively. He is an AIMF Alumnus 2019 Cohort. He is a member of the Araism movement as well as the Craft potters association of Nigeria. He is committed to creating meaningful and inspiring art pieces using threads, acrylic and other mediums of expression. He has interfaced with the technique of string art and has developed it for about ten years. It is a mindful practice that involves full concentration, passion and perseverance. It’s a painstaking and time consuming process that is rare as very few still practice it. However, he derives pleasure from it because of the impact the works make in the lives of the audience. His works focus on African themes, art education, talent development, community development and civic engagement via subject matters often inspired by socio-cultural activities and events within the society. He also articulates his ideas through the use of motifs from a multi-continental spectrum but focuses more on the African motifs. These motifs feature more as he infuses them into the background.
